Celtic House
We returned from Port Fairy via Mortlake and the Hamilton Hwy. You get a good run on the Hamilton Hwy, but in addition we were able to stop in Mortlake at the Celtic House cafe. This appears to be the former Catholic
rectory (is that the correct word?): it's between the Church and the school and was obviously used as a
residence in the past. It now operates as a cafe (every day except
Tuesday). The look and feel is a trip down memory lane, back to the 60s
(at least). But the food is pretty good (I can recommend the steak sandwich), you can get a cappuccino, the ladies are very friendly
and there are lots of jams and spreads to buy!
